P400 6.5L Engine Long Block

Meet the P400, the ultimate 6.5L diesel engine. As GM adopted the Duramax design in 2001, the 6.5 was phased out.  AM General stepped in and bulletproofed the latest GM design to provide the best 6.5 to date!

The differences from a normal GM 6.5L are as follows:

• Forged steel crankshaft
• Unique cylinder heads with addition of hardened valve seats
• Unique cylinder block with P400 markings
  • Made with stronger alloy
  • Includes a bed-plate girdle with integrated main caps to completely eliminate bottom end issues present in all other 6.5 blocks.
    • Custom oil pan is required for GMT400 vehicles and available separately
  • Upgraded piston oil cooling jets with matching higher volume oil pump
• Forged powdered metal alloy rods with fractured cap design to prevent walking
• Stronger piston design with coated skirts
  
• Rated at 250hp/500tq in military service but the bottom end is capable well beyond this depending on fuel system output

 *These are center mount turbo config for Van/H1 manifolds, but they can be adapted for GMT400 also. The phots may show a fully dressed engine since options are extensive on this item. We'll work with you to configure for your needs.
